Retro stripes with KB Shimmer Sky Jinks

Last weekend a friend of mine had a retro themed birthday party. So naturally, retro nails matching my outfit were a must :)

The blue polish is a fantastic creme from KB Shimmer Spring 2014 collection called Sky Jinks. The formula is a dream and the opacity is amazing - I'm wearing one coat! The color is probably the matter of taste, but I think it is awesome - bright blue like the summer sky, with a hint of dustiness. Not a neon, just a beautiful blue.

Base color:  KB Shimmer Sky Jinks, bought from Harlow & Co (they ship internationally).
Stripes: free handed with a striper brush and Essence Flashy Pumkin   Read More......

Mint Polish Full Bodied

With my nails being shorter than usual, I decided to wear one of my new Mint polishes called Full Bodied.  It's a very cool & very vampy blood-red polish with a fantastic jelly formula. Shown with just two coats and a top coat.

Did you ever see a jelly with such coverage?!?  I cannot even express how I love the color! Up close, it has this amazing depth and translucence only a jelly can have.

I don't even remember how I stumbled upon this brand, but I'm so happy I did! Mint is a Californian Indie-brand, their polishes are 5-free. I ordered via their online shop and prepared to wait for ages for the delivery to Germany. But my polishes arrived really fast - I think within one week or so. Yay!!! :)
It's finally spring here, so I'm looking forward to try out the pastel one-coaters, I ordered together with this polish.

The polish has a nice shine by itself, but since I probably end up wearing it for next four days, I've added a top coat. The polish is so smooth it actually mirrored my overhead lamp in this picture...

What do you think of this color?

31DC2013, Day 17: Glitter with "I Heart You" by Glimmer by Erica

I did some serious thinking about how to create a glitter mani I could wear to work. So the 31 Day Challenge is not just about the nail art, but how to make it wearable as well :)
I decided to use the beautiful indie glitter polish by Glimmer by Erica I got on Etsy and wore the baby blue and then pink silk blouses to work. It was fun to be a bit more girly for a change :)
(Sorry for the dark pic, I'll get better, I promise!)

Doppelgänger by Different Dimension

Oh, I just love polishing my nails! It really relaxes me. By now I have a huge collection of polishes and stamping patterns, and with all those nail art blogs to have as inspiration, it is a really hard to decide what to try out next :).
Couple of weeks ago I bought some fabulous indie nail polishes from Different Dimension on Etsy. Doppelgänger was one of them. It is a grey tinted jelly polish with pink glitter and small hexes. There are also some big silvery hexes, which I tried to avoid this time. Without any base color, this grey base didn't go well with my skin tone, so I had to try something else. I tried to be creative and used a new stamping pattern. I really love how it came out!

I tried to use the dark grey Astor polish I have on my ring finger also for stamping, but it didn't work out well, so I had to switch to the gunmetal grey color from China Glaze Romantique collection.

Base color: just one coat of P2 Volume Gloss 020 Business Woman (pale mauve/lavender color) and dark greige Astor Quick'N Go! 324 for my ring fingers.
Stamping: pattern from OB-NAIL XXL Plate E bought on Ebay from us-nails-arena, stamped with China Glaze Awaken (gunmetal silver).

Seche Vite as top coat.

Liquid sunshine

Yeee-haaaa! It's casual Friday again! As a tribute to the fantastic sunny weather we had in Hamburg the last weeks, I decided to do yellow nails. I think this color combination looks like liquid sunlight!

Mr. Noisy by Different Dimension

Base color: just one thin coat of China Glaze Sun Worshiper
Glitters: one easy coat of Different Dimension Mr. Noisy
The beautiful shimmering yellow is an indie polish made by Different Dimension. It would change to shimmery orange, if your hands are getting cold. I had no chance to see orange today: +28° is just not cold enough :)
